I can’t speak for every­one but some of the games that I play have a par­tic­u­larly nasty haz­ard; not only do they leave you gasp­ing for a healer but they also destroy a major­ity of your items. Are you car­ry­ing scrolls, a note­book, a map, or parch­ment with notes to the hid­den lair of a rival? Poof – all gone.

Let’s assume for a moment that you are jug­gling with some glass vials to help keep you and your party mem­bers alive, or to use as offen­sive weapons. All of these are destroyed in an instant along with all of your paper or burn­able good­ies.

Pop­u­lar­ity: 14% [?]

I spoke with my daugh­ter this morn­ing about high-school and what she thinks she will do when her ‘friends’ tell her that she has to decide between one clique and another.  She told me that if she has to choose she would def­i­nitely want to be a part of her beloved ‘nerd herd.’

Yes, they call them­selves that.

At the time that made me smile; mostly because she let me know that she has lots of friends but her ‘nerd’ friends have more fun than any­one else.  Frankly, I agree.

Pop­u­lar­ity: 37% [?]

It isn’t often that I think of graves, corpses and all things hor­ror and think “Yes! That’s per­fect.”  I’m not a hor­ror junkie by any means, nor do I have fan­tasies of an ‘early retire­ment’ — if you know what I mean.

Today how­ever, I think that we could all learn a lit­tle some­thing from this crea­ture from beyond.

Pop­u­lar­ity: 38% [?]

I get email; A lot of email.  Prob­a­bly upwards of 400 emails each day.  I don’t think it’s very sur­pris­ing that I’m selec­tive about the emails that I read.  If it doesn’t per­tain to my LARP busi­ness, this blog, or some­one impor­tant I may not read it right away.

Yet once a month I get an email and no mat­ter what I’m doing I open it up and click the link con­tained within.  This par­tic­u­lar email is LARP related, and I am inter­ested in what the per­son has to say in gen­eral, but that isn’t why I open the email.

I want to see if I’ve won.

Pop­u­lar­ity: 94% [?]

In a world that has been trau­ma­tized by the Light­ning Bolt video it is some­times hard to believe that there are decent LARP videos out there.  If you look hard enough you can find them.

And some­times they find you.  Like this ugly (but awe­some) guy.
