Simple & Authentic — Food at LARP

Not too long ago I men­tioned to a few LARP friends of mine that I didn’t think it was unrea­son­able for a LARP game to NOT offer a venue for play­ers to buy food at the game.  I rather vividly remem­ber attend­ing my first few LARP expe­ri­ences with­out ever pay­ing some­one else to feed me.

I admit that the option was there as the LARP facil­i­ta­tor pro­vided ham­burg­ers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc ala cart but at the time I was def­i­nitely too broke to take him up on that offer.

Is It Enough… or Too Much?

You could say that in its essence LARP is a very fluid thing — no two peo­ple view it quite the same, nor do they inter­act with their LARP envi­ron­ment in the same ways.

I half expected to write this post in the after­math of the late March bliz­zard that is noto­ri­ous for sneak­ing up on us just when every­one has con­vinced them­selves that win­ter has finally released its clutches.  But it seems that lately the sea­sons and LARP have some­thing in com­mon.
